This page explains how to report concerns, block another user, and contact TruePair about safety. It supplements the Terms of Use and Community Guidelines.
Immediate danger
TruePair is not an emergency-response service. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact 911 or the appropriate local emergency service first. Do not rely on an in-app report or email for an emergency.
Report in the app
Use the report action available from a profile, conversation, message, or other supported surface. Choose the reason that best describes the concern and add only information relevant to the report.
Depending on the surface and product notice, reporting may also block the reported user and close or restrict the conversation. The app should tell you what happened. A successful report should return a public reference that can be used for follow-up without exposing internal case identifiers.
Examples of reportable concerns include:
- threats, stalking, harassment, coercion, or repeated unwanted contact;
- impersonation, identity deception, romance scams, requests for money, or phishing;
- apparent underage use or exploitation involving a minor;
- hate, violent threats, non-consensual intimate content, or sexual solicitation;
- spam, automated abuse, account compromise, or attempts to evade a block; and
- other content or conduct that may violate the Community Guidelines or Terms.
Do not submit reports as retaliation, to manipulate discovery, or to harass another person.
Block a user
Blocking is a protective interaction control. It is separate from reporting. A block may remove the person from discovery, prevent future interaction, restrict the conversation, and survive refresh or sign-in according to the active product behavior.
Blocking does not automatically create a safety report unless the app expressly says it does. If conduct may violate policy or create risk for others, use the report action as well.
What happens after a report
TruePair’s safety process may collect the reason, reporter and reported-account references, relevant profile, message, or media references, timestamps, and limited evidence the reporter was authorized to view. Access should be restricted to authorized personnel and processors with a legitimate safety, support, legal, or security need.
Reports are triaged by severity. TruePair’s operational target is to act on objectionable-content reports within 24 hours, with shorter targets for critical safety matters. This target is not an emergency guarantee and may depend on the available facts, investigation needs, lawful requests, and operational conditions.
Possible actions include content restriction or removal, warnings, feature limits, account suspension or removal, preservation of narrowly relevant evidence, referral for further review, or no action when the available information does not establish a violation.
Confidentiality and fairness
TruePair does not disclose the reporter’s identity to the reported user through the reporting process. We may provide limited status or outcome information when appropriate, but we do not disclose another person’s private report, evidence, contact details, or internal safety methods.
Reports are not proof by themselves. TruePair considers available evidence, context, severity, prior enforcement, and applicable law. Automated systems can make mistakes, so designated decisions may receive human review or appeal.
Follow up
For an existing report, use the public reference supplied by the app. Do not send passwords, one-time codes, full identity documents, payment credentials, or unrelated private material.
